Understanding Sexual & Marital Problems
Sexual and marital difficulties are common, deeply distressing and highly treatable, yet stigma keeps most couples from seeking help. Consultations are strictly private and judgement-free, with a focus on the medical and psychological factors that are actually driving the problem.
A large share of sexual difficulty is anxiety-driven, or a side effect of medication, alcohol, diabetes or thyroid disease. A qualified psychiatric assessment finds the cause instead of selling a course of unlabelled capsules.
Signs that are worth taking seriously
- Performance anxiety
- Erectile or arousal difficulty
- Premature ejaculation
- Low sexual desire
- Fear or avoidance of intimacy
- Frequent marital conflict
- Communication breakdown
- Distress after misinformation from unqualified sources
When it is time to see a psychiatrist
Not every low patch needs a doctor. These are the points at which a clinical opinion genuinely helps rather than waiting longer:
- Difficulty that has lasted more than a few months and is causing distress
- Avoiding intimacy because of anxiety about performance
- Constant conflict, or a relationship that has stopped communicating
- You have been taking unlabelled 'strength' medicines bought outside
How this is treated at the chamber
Evaluation screens for diabetes, thyroid, hormonal and medication-related causes, then addresses performance anxiety and myths through psychoeducation, behavioural sex therapy techniques, couple communication work, and appropriate medical treatment — while firmly steering patients away from unqualified quack remedies.
What happens at the first visit
A full history, unhurried
What has been happening, for how long, and how it is affecting sleep, work, studies and family. Relatives can join if you want them to.
Examination and tests where needed
Thyroid, vitamin B12, sugar and other basic investigations are ordered when they could be contributing. Physical causes are ruled out before anything else.
The diagnosis, explained plainly
You are told what the condition is, what it is not, and why. No jargon and no vague reassurance.
A plan you have agreed to
Medication where it is needed, at the lowest dose that will work, plus counselling and follow-up dates. Cost is discussed openly.
